He served asBowser's second-in-command beforeBowser Jr.andKamekcame along. Like his siblings, Ludwig uses hisshellto attack and can be defeated by jumping on his head three times. He uses his magicwandto summon multiple bluefireballsat once, some of which can home in on the player and can also levitate. InNew Super Mario Bros. U, he can now create fake duplicates of himself. He is also the most talented and most powerful of the Koopalings. Ludwig is depicted as intelligent, precocious and cynical and is the oldest of his siblings. He considers himself the leader of the Koopalings, though the others deny it. He loves playingvideo gameswith his younger brothers and likes listening to classical music, even being a composer himself. Like most of the Koopalings, he wearsspiked braceletson each arm and has a mostlyyellow skincomplexion, as well as a green head. He is average height and hasblueparted hair, a bluespiked shelland an overbite with asingle tooth. He is named afterLudwig van Beethoven, a famous German composer and pianist.
