Amechafrom theGundamseries. It first appeared in theMobile Suit GundamTV show from 1979. TheRB-79 Ballis a simplistic mobile weapon created by theEarth Federationto support their fledglingmobile suitspaceforces. They are usually deployed in vast numbers and operate only inzero gravityenvironments. Despite its unassuming looks and less than unique armament, the Ball was somewhat agile and possessed multiple different configurations, which made the pokey machines quite dangerous in the right hands. It is said that a Ball, piloted byShiro Amada, was even capable of defeating aZaku IIHigh Mobility Type in one-on-one combat. Its design was inspired by theEVA podsfrom2001 A Space Odyssey.
